It's a stripey thing.

There is something about a British summer that doesn't feel complete without a few stripes.  It evokes clear blue skies, sunkissed hair days on the beach and fish & chips suppers still in their wrappers.

These are just a few of my favourite finds.  Roll on those warm summer evenings in the garden or on the beach.

Denim Blue

Spending the majority of my time at home with the kids or working at Auntie Mims in their workshop means that I literally live in my jeans and I LOVE it.  Even when I go out these days (which is not very often) I will still wear jeans but dress them up with a fancy pair of shoes and a jacket.  Recently I have fallen for the double denim look, something I previously thought was a definite no no.  I know I did a post on blue previously but seriously there is so much Denim loving going on at the moment that I thought I would share some of my Denim love with you.

I have been eyeing up this coat for a while now.
I love a sloppy oversized handbag.

Black & White

From furnishings, clothing, accessories and stationary I just love the black and white combination.  I think it works well and creates such a crisp finish.  Admittedly on its own it can be a bit harsh but broken up in a setting with other colours I think the black and white combo can give a sophisticated look.

I think this a staple in most wardrobes.

I love the whole black and white thing.  I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.  If you missed out on last weeks metallic colour installment or any of the previous posts then you can catch up here.

Dreaming of Summer & Ice Cream.

The recent mini heatwave has got me dreaming of summer and all that it means.  Sunshine and sand, sandals, painted toes, shorts, trips to the beach and ice creams without feeling guilty.  Having basked in the sun for 24hours the birkenstocks have been replaced with the converse and the shorts are back in the cupboard.  Not I wanting to let go of that short lived summer feeling I thought I would put together an ice cream inspired post.

I brought these leggings for Amelie and they look great.

These cute bags would make great birthday gifts for little girls.

I am a huge fan of Mr Printables.  How amazing are these printable Ice Creams and Lollies.  If you were planning an Ice Cream themed party these would make perfect party bags.

Little trinkets to keep you thinking of summer

On my Ice Cream inspired quest I came across lots of equally exciting DIY makes and products.  You can see all of these links on my cool food pinterest board.

My top Duffel Bag Picks.

My sister is getting married in a few weeks which in my book calls for a new handbag.  With two small children in tow I want something big enough to take some of those baby essentials but it needs to be easy to wear whilst holding little hands.

I am a sucker for black.  I live quite literally in black.  I love teaming black up with bright accessories, scarfs, bags, nails, lipsticks however doing so means I don't really have a black handbag.

This bag was literally love at first sight.  Now as much as I love it it is about £300 more than I have but it doesn't stop me lusting after it.

I have literally driven my poor husband up the wall about which handbag I should or shouldn't buy.  If you would like to see some more handbag finds you can follow me on pinterest.

It's a Shoe Thing

With the clocks going forwards this weekend, the evenings getting lighter and the sun starting to rise in the sky I find myself thinking about what the summer might bring.  The girls playing in the garden, the paddling pool out, trips to the beach, camping trips and family BBQ's, I can see it all now and I can't wait.  All this dreaming has made me think about summer wear. Despite loving my dubarry boots I am looking forward popping them back in their box and airing my well manicured toes.  I love being able to just slip on a pair of sandals to do the school run.  Last year I literally lived in my Birkenstocks and salt-water sandals and as we progressed into Autumn I held out as long as possible by wearing them with socks.

This year I am pleased to see the fashion for utilitarian shoes continue so not only can I break out last years sandals but I can justify a new pair too.  Here is my top sandal picks for this summer.
