All things Green

This week I thought I would take a look at the colour green.  Partly inspired by Oh She Glows and her Green Monster Smoothies.

I like the idea of a smoothie to start the day but I don't know if I can get my head around drinking kale and spinach.  But it looks good.

Since the start of the year I have been taking a good look at my diet and have slowly been trying to implement some changes.  Basically I had piled on the pounds and my diet sucked.  It was full of complete junk and I felt exhausted and S***!!!  One of my favourite go to places for healthy inspiration is Green Kitchen Stories.  It is jam packed with the most gorgeous photography and delicious healthy recipes.
Here are some of my favourite green finds for the week.

Pink lusting

Recently I have been dreaming of far flung places.  In my search of a family summer holiday I came across the most amazing pink beaches of  Pink Sand Beach Harbour Isla Bahamas.

It looks absolutely stunning and got me thinking about the colour pink.  Here are a few of my favorite pink finds and what better way to start than with donuts and pink fizz.

What I would do for one of these amazing pink iced doughnuts right now!
and what better way to enjoy a pink doughnut than with a glass of pink fizz.
or if it's a bit early on in the day how about a glass of pink lemonade or a cup of coffee.

I can no longer buy crisps in our house because I am addicted to them and will literally consume a whole family sized bag all by myself - but I do love a bag of prawn cocktail flavoured crisps.

Continuing with a sweet tooth theme this Pink Lemonade Ice Cream by Cravings of a Lunatic looks amazing.
Something I always loved as a child was carnival week when the fair arrived in town and we were allowed candy floss on a stick.  All that pink fluffy sugar!!!!

Prior to having our girls we possessed very little pink and despite avoiding the gender stereotypes I feel our house is full to brimming in pink.  Over the last six years the colour pink has slowly grown on me.  You can check out last weeks colour installment which was all about the Denim Blue.  Or follow me on Pinterest.

Denim Blue

Spending the majority of my time at home with the kids or working at Auntie Mims in their workshop means that I literally live in my jeans and I LOVE it.  Even when I go out these days (which is not very often) I will still wear jeans but dress them up with a fancy pair of shoes and a jacket.  Recently I have fallen for the double denim look, something I previously thought was a definite no no.  I know I did a post on blue previously but seriously there is so much Denim loving going on at the moment that I thought I would share some of my Denim love with you.

I have been eyeing up this coat for a while now.
I love a sloppy oversized handbag.

Florals Everywhere.

This weeks colour installment is all about floral prints.  It started when I spotted these floral shorts in Zara closely followed by an amazing Hibiscus skirt by Matthew Williamson.

Ever since my art days at school I have been drawn to William Morris and his floral patterns.  I love the diversity of his work.  His use of repeat patterns was particularly effective in the form of tiling and wallpaper designs. Whilst he may have been a writer and a poet today he is mainly recognised for his floral patterns.

Here are a couple of his prints

I also Love a bit of Liberty Print and how cute are these cotton bloomers for little bottoms

If you are planning a little camping trip this summer you could do it in style with a Liberty print tent and suitcase.
.
With florals firmly imprinted in my mind this week here are some of my other favourite finds for little people.

I love these retro style prints

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks Floral colour installment.  If you missed last week it was all about the White.  You can catch up with it here.

Crisp & White

I know that technically white as a colour is debatable - is it a colour or a shade?  Either way this weeks colour installment is the colour white.  I love the feeling of pure crisp cleanliness that white can create. Coffee in white mugs, fluffy warm white towels and a crisp white shirt paired with jeans.

Here are a few of my favourite white finds.

I really want to knit a pattern from Wool and the Gang in this Shiny Happy Cotton. $12.
I am contemplating signing up to host one of their knitting parties, but finding the time at the moment is the tricky bit.
My husband brought me a London Brick Knitting Needle holder for Christmas and I Love it.

I brought this bag in red the other day and I love it.  (I removed the square base bit to give it a more slouchy feel.) I am considering going back for it in white too.

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks colour installment.  If you missed last weeks Orange or any other week you can catch up here.

Black & White

From furnishings, clothing, accessories and stationary I just love the black and white combination.  I think it works well and creates such a crisp finish.  Admittedly on its own it can be a bit harsh but broken up in a setting with other colours I think the black and white combo can give a sophisticated look.

I think this a staple in most wardrobes.

I love the whole black and white thing.  I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.  If you missed out on last weeks metallic colour installment or any of the previous posts then you can catch up here.
